Soft Reeds - Magic
It helps that I have blog friends in Kansas City who constantly feed me great stuff being created in that town. This Ben Grimes-led project fits into the vibrant scene, swinging in the middle of the party on a trapeze of strong vocals and danceable beats with this follow up single to their 2010 debut Soft Reeds are Bastards LP.
Get their 7” split with fellow Missourians Minden over on The Record Machine. Speaking of which, you gotta see their hilarious new sexy/kitchy vid for “Gold Standard.”
